I was born and raised in Portugal (Europe). Music came to my life when I was only 12 (1991) and I've been passionate about it since the moment my older brother gave me my first drum kit!

In 2006 I visited the US for the first time (California) and I loved it. I knew this was gonna be my home one day, so in 2012 I moved here. Left everything and everyone in Portugal behind and moved to NY. It's been a really interesting and crazy ride and I love it. It hasn't been an easy ride, though, but I believe that all the obstacles along the way are just tests. Only the strong and passionate people who come here to win, end up achieving their goals. This is the land of opportunities, but I truly believe that we have to create ours!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, learn new things, listen to new stories. I also love sharing my own story (since I moved from Portugal almost 6 years ago). Life is too short not to enjoy it by meeting more and more people! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read books per se, but I read a lot of articles on the internet. I'm always learning new things (usually related to music) and when I'm not doing that, I'm actually making music.

My favorite movie: Lord of the Rings (yes, I'm one of those geeks haha)

I don't have any favorite music. As a friend once said, it's possible to find a good song in any genre. Music for me is a whole different universe, people just decided to start labeling it and creating different genres. If I like a song, I listen to it, regardless of the genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to NY to pursue my dream! It's been such an amazing experience, dealing with all the difficulties along the way, learning more and more about myself. And I must tell you: what a riiiiiide!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

In 2015 I watched this movie that changed my life, "The Samaritan", where Samuel L. Jackson says: "If you keep on doing what you've always done. You'll keep on being what you've always been. Nothing changes unless you make it change."

That was what made me go on tour with my friend Laurelle, for 2 months, in October 2017 and now in 2018, this time by myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My story and my help with anything you need in the house. A good laugh or a good serious conversation. Not big on cooking, but I can help with that too :) I am open to anything to make everything a great experience for both of us and who knows, maybe keep that connection after I'm gone! :)
