ABOUT ME

I have recently moved back home to Cortes Island, the beautiful rural island where I grew up, and here I live with my wonderful partner K and our toddler. This profile is for K as well, or you can look him up as 'K and Mark Kowalczyk' from back in the day! We actually met through Couchsurfing friends in 2011 when I was traveling Australia so it holds a special place in our hearts.

I am a warm and kind, intuitive person who loves connecting with people. I'm a huge nature-lover and a gardener, and a passionate cook! I love good food, hiking, wandering gardens, and I'm obsessed with ocean swimming and anything in and on the water. I have grown up in the middle of the forest on a tiny island, so I am a true islander and a country gal but have also lived in the city for a long time.

As a guest I am a great cook, an accommodating conversationalist, I am very clean, respectful and happy to do cleaning chores as well to help out before we depart. I am happy to be incredibly independent and do my own thing, or would love to cook you a meal and check out a local secret spot you know.

K:

My partner K is a patient, compassionate and gentle person, and a wonderful story-teller. He is an avid reader with fascinating stories about the things he learns. I've never met anyone who didn't get along with him famously. He's obsessed with movement and healthy physicality and getting into nature. He loves hiking, mountaineering, chocolate, any physical activities, and long chats while drinking good coffee.

I am on CS to make great connections, memories and friends while having/offering a safe place to sleep.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Made many wonderful friends with surfers being hosted by my friends, then surfed in Australia and Bali. Since then I have hosted people in Vancouver when we lived there and appreciate giving back. I don't expect anything from my guests, just good karma and paying it forward.
