Overview
About Me
I am a classical trumpet player studying at Stellenbosch University which is about 50kms outside of Cape Town.
I always try to experience as much as I can- as often as I can, and like most people, enjoy an engaging conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was referred to Couchsurfing by a friend of mine who had hosted a wide array of people and was also able to find couches to crash on when he went on his own travels.
The experiences he explained to me and the people he met along the way really intrigued me, so I decided to give it a go myself!
Interests
I try to watch as many live shows that happen around me as possible, whether they be classical, pop, hip hop, or rock.
I also enjoy watching big football games at local pubs, and I try out new places to eat every so often.
I put down strawberry picking because I guess I've done that quite a couple of times now, and the hiking bit is a lie I like to tell myself. I enjoy it more when the hike is over and I can tell my friends I've done it rather than the hours of climbing I guess.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite genres in order would probably be hip hop (enormous Drake fan, but also into a lot of Southern African stuff), for a lack of a better word 'alternative' music (that phrase I don't believe really means anything, but stuff like Rhye, James Vincent McMorrow, Oh Wonder, Dillon, Daughter etc), and probably western classical music mainly from the Romantic period.
Favourite movies: Interstellar, Arrival and Begin Again.
Favourite book is definitely Deception Point by Dan Brown, but if no one's watching I'll whip out a little bit of Nicholas Sparks.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I restarted my local community's youth orchestra.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach more people the trumpet (mainly for the money)
Learn self control
Share stories and experiences with new friends. That's always the most fun.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sleeper couch, probably a couple of meals, semi-decent banter (probably about a 4 out of 5), and a few adventures around the Stellenbosch area.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Egypt, France, Italy, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Zambia
Countries I’ve Lived In
Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe
