ABOUT ME
Hi Couchsurfers!
My name is Betty and I'm a grad student at UW. I'm currently studying User Centered Design and my group chose to study the Couchsurfing site as part of a class project. We are finishing up our research and will be turning in our final report and conclusions in the next couple of weeks.
Meeting local couchsurfers while conducting our research interviews for our class project and hearing about their experiences really inspired me to try couchsurfing out for myself. I was inspired at how amazing of a culture it really is. Its not just about bumming a free place to stay.. but its really about giving and sharing... whether its sharing your couch, or sharing yourself as a person. Its about meeting new people! I'm normally a pretty shy and reserved person, but I would like to get myself out there and meet different kinds of people. I am also considering hosting in the future. (when I can eventually get a bigger place!)
PHILOSOPHY
To think you know something, is to know nothing. Never stop your quest for knowledge and experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Besides studying the CS project for school, I'm interested in getting involved as a surfer in the near future. My boyfriend and I will be in New York in early April for a wedding, and will need a place to stay!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couchsurfed before, but I did have the opportunity to backpack around Europe for a month in 2004. Can't wait to have a chance to travel like that again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Cinque Terre, Italy, I mustered up the courage to check out the secret nude beach. It was quite the experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could probably teach you a few hip hop moves :) I danced with a couple local Seattle groups for about 5 years.
