CURRENT MISSION
Create a life filled with good friends from all over the world, animals, love, nature, books and great conversation.
ABOUT ME
I loved surfing and now I want to host and show people around DC!
I love to do outdoorsy things - bike riding, hiking, exploring, picnics, frisbee, or just going for a walk.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a very friendly person, I really enjoy conversations and meeting new people. I have a lot of energy and I can be hyper sometimes. I love listening to stories. I believe in the fundamental good of people worldwide, and I strongly believe in the importance of community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed with Mauro in Buenos Aires and completely loved it. I felt immediately at home with Mauro and I loved seeing the city from the perspective of a local. I also have couch surfed in Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. I'll never travel by hotel ever again!

Teach, Learn, Share
I've been told that I light up a room, and while that is embarrassing, I do acknowledge that people seem to enjoy my enthusiasm, upbeat energy, and easy laughter. But I'm also a hard worker. I grew up in a single parent home on gov assistance, I'm the first in my family to go to college, and I graduated with honors. I dedicated most of my career to helping others, first working on child abuse prevention, then working on expanding access to affordable housing. Recently I was recruited for a fancy VC job but it didn't work out - it wasn't a match for my passions and values.
I am a huge animal lover and nature/science nerd and love to share mind-blowing facts like 1) a spec of dust is half-way in size between an atom and the earth, and 2) there are more trees on earth than stars in the Milky Way galaxy.
I have some experience in trauma healing work and have participated in support groups, where I have picked up the wisdom of more experienced members, and am happy to share my findings. I also have enjoyed wonderful spiritual communities (universalist unitarian, quaker) and enjoy sharing in the spirituality of community. I can bring an awesome Moon Deck that is sort of like taro cards but all affirmative, body-positive, self-care encouraging messages. Its lovely and would be fun to do with others. I'd also bring my favorite spiritual book, Anam Cara, a book of Celtic Wisdom which inspires me every day in how it talks about friendship and our relationship with the earth.
I love to play chess and I am happy to teach others. I like art as well, painting and drawing, volleyball, and I'm learning ASL, a very fun thing to teach others.
I really enjoy working with children. I talk to them like they are rational humans and they seem to like that. Plus I really love to teach, especially about nature, science, animals, etc.
