Overview
About Me
We are a 30-something queer couple with kids in the home part time. We are extroverts and people-lovers who have both built our lives around making the world a better place in whatever ways we can. We are both post-Christian, active in social justice and LGBTQAI circles. Notwithstanding, we are gentle conversationalists, enthusiastic learners and artistic souls. We love swapping stories and contemplations.
We love COMMUNITY. We have both spent time in intentional communities and now seek to foster community-lite by sharing what we have with open hands whenever we can.
We value maintaining healthy rhythms for ourselves individually, as a couple, family, city and humanity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
We love to share our home, either by offering a warm and cozy space for more independent travelers or by a more present hosting including sharing meals and making connections. We host as we are able, specifically when the kiddos are at their mom's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting atop a cliff in the Aran Islands, Ireland, hearing the ocean waves crash below. I laid on my belly and scooted all the way to the edge so my arms could dangle over the vast drop. My heart was racing and I could not look away from the power of the water. Because, earlier that week...
I was at the Giant's Causeway, N. Ireland. I walked all the way out to the end if the jutting rocks and stood there, watching the waves roll in, gain momentum and crash past me while I stood dry above them. It was a bizarre feeling of being fully immersed yet fully removed, since I was farther out than the breaking point, yet standing on solid ground. I was so fascinated I lost all track of time. With a shock I realized the tide was coming in. Pictures of Waterlilly tied to a rock waiting for Peter Pan to save her flashed through my head, so I turned quickly and headed for shore. Halfway up the rocks I paused to smile and wave at my much more removed older sister/traveling companion... and glanced back seaward JUST in time to see a WALL of water coming at me! I just had time to brace my feet in the rocks before the wave crashed over me, instantly soaking through to my skin, leaving me ice cold, shivering, laughing as hard as I've ever laughed, and SO grateful I wasn't washed out to sea! Never before or since have I so thoroughly felt the power of the water, of waves, of the tide. Meanwhile my sister, high and dry, captured it all in a fantastic series of photos, proving the wave was every bit as tall as I felt it was, and I really am a tiny human who should not overestimate my own power. And the awe and laughter continued that night when we went out to eat at a lovely seaside restaurant, me wearing my last remaining dry clothes-- a summer dress over a sweater and my PJ pants!
