About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Drink in life.

ABOUT ME

I love saying yes to new experiences and people; amazing narcotic absorbing conversation; letting go at times; connecting across culture and barriers and false beliefs that amazing things are not possible. I enjoy and can walk for hours in any city. I am a lawyer, but only in the office and courtroom. I value kindness, am a sucker for good and funny stories (see, for example, one of mine at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GoQA_BSFR4) and want to hear your stories.

Interests

They say guys are very visual, but I am trying to live and enjoy life with my other senses as well -- scents of freshly cut fruit in a market place, sounds of a first-date conversation in some coffee shop in another town in another country in another language, the touch and texture and taste of food I've never before eaten. Traveling lets me do all this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best meal I have had in recent memory was in Hanoi, Vietnam. You trash your Lonely Planet and get away from the Facebooking backpackers and their goddamn been-there-done-that digital cameras, and you get lost and end up at this alley. And you turn the corner into the steam-filled back, the sun goes away, and it's dark, and crowded, and there are no tourists, and old women with labyrinthine faces are squatting on cheap plastic chairs, stirring pots bubbling with broth, and they argue about flirty men and coy girls, and you can sit down and get a steaming bowl of noodle soup, with beef, and basil, and crispy-fried onions, and it's served in a chipped porcelain bowl, and you fork over a dollar (which they snatch from your fist), and hunker down, with chopsticks, and it is so delicious it sears itself into your memory.
