About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello all! I am a self-proclaimed wanderer and have had the travel lust for as long as I can remember. I am a very friendly and chatty person and am usually able to rouse up some wittyness. I am a writer and a poet and can frequently be found tucked in corners around town caught in the throws of some inspiration or another. So chat me up if you'd like to hang out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in meeting up with people for coffee/tea or to wander about the city together for a bit, chatting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met some lovely people in my adventures abroad. Can't wait to make more friends on the homefront!

I am basically always reading or writing something, or scribbling flighting fancies in my books. I also love to hike and go on adventures and adore being outdoors!

Music, Movies, and Books

Okay so it's nearly impossible to ask a bibliophile what their favorite book is, but I'll throw out a few!

1. Count of Monte Cristo 2. Harry Potter 3. Wuthering Heights 4. Seer and the Sword5. The Elegance of the Hedgehog 6. Brave New World 7. Song of the Lioness Series

My current read is "Empathy Exams" and it's absolutely fantastic!

My musical tastes are all over the place really. A few of my favorite artists are Courtney Barnett, Heron Oblivion, Hot Chip, Cayucas, Polly Scattergood, Maria Mena, Lee Seung Ge, and once upon a time Nicholas Teo. Movie wise all over the place. Harold and Maude, Talladega Nights, Rosemary's Baby, Girl Interrupted, and Ghost World among many many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A poem inspired by my experience standing on the rooftop of a crumbling church at an abandoned hacienda in Mexico. It was one of those moments that as you close your eyes you can feel yourself being swept away with it. I can almost feel the piercing chill caress my cheek as I stared across the open plains at the volcanos in the distance...

Hacienda del Campesino
Quiet flexing fingers
stretch
toward a moody sky
Winds that whip and stir
dusty lives
shiver across an azure,
crimson expanse
where crowded plains
toss waves
of dusky wheat and
Stanch agavesboldly reach
for an impervious
sky.
Spikes as green
as bottles, halo
a weeping heart,
flesh grated
by the shriveled
brown man,
whose eager eyes
and furrowed brow,
anticipate her sweet
honey water.
Agua miel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a knack of the culinary kind. I will happily whip you up a vegan meal if you host me!

I can teach you how to create Jacob's Ladder out of strong.

I can write you a poem.

I can draw a shoddy rendition of your portrait upon request.

We can help each other figure life out through long meandering philosophical discussions if you so desire.

Sometimes I can make you laugh.
