ABOUT ME

This is always so hard to fill out. My friends would describe me as a spontaneous person who is always on the move, always keeping the time filled with all kinds of activities. Usually these have to do with being in the outdoors, but also in the city seeing friends or taking some personal time.

I have a blog covering my trip across Europe. I decided to write it so that my friends and family back in Canada could travel with me and see what I am up to over here on another continent. If you're interested you can take a look here:

Cities I have visitied: Varadero, Cayo Coco, Havana, Punta Cana, Montreal, New York City, Belgrade, Budva, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Vienna, Bratislava, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Siena, Rome, Salerno, Amalfi, Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Granada, Sevilla, Lisbon, Belém, Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Santarém, Caldas da Raihna, Obidos, Nazaré, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Tromso, Stockholm, Malmö, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Braga, Guimarães, Porto, Coimbra, Évora, Terras Novas, Niagara Falls (Canada & USA), Niagara-on-the-Lake, Stratford (Ontario), Quebec City, Buffalo, Cancún, San Francisco, Boston, Pittsburgh, Milan, Cinque Terre, Tivoli, Moncton, Fredericton, Central Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown, Halifax, Ottawa, Tropea, Stromboli, Panarea

PHILOSOPHY

Live for the moment, we never know what is awaiting us around the corner.

After a traumatic experience in the family I realized that life is short and we shouldn't waste our time worrying over little things that can sometimes make life not so enjoyable. Instead cherish the good things in life, like your family and friends, the people and events that make it so special, and learn from the negative experiences that may come our way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed now with multiple people in Europe and it has been truly great. Meeting people in all these new places really adds a new dimension to traveling and enhances the experience. I definitely want to host in Toronto when I get the chance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started surfing in August and decided to make a personal social project out of this idea. I spent 5 months in Europe, staying with and meeting new people everywhere I go. I wanted to see and compare peoples' attitudes depending on the country and try to get an idea of their culture. It is amazing how many differences and similarities you can find between people of varying origin. You only need a few days in a place to develop a perception of what sort of people live there. It has been a fantastic and eye opening experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies with good acting and fantastic heart wrenching plot lines. Something that can make me cry.

I listen to all kinds of music. I am a big fan of Folk style music, such as Mumford and Sons, Fleet Foxes, First Aid Kit, Bon Iver, and others.

I read fiction and non-fiction - currently reading up on ancient Roman history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the St. Sava Cathedral in Belgrade in the shining sun, it is this massive, white structure that takes your breath away.

Snorkelling in the coral reefs off Varadero, next stop will be Australia.
