Sobre mí

Hi, I´m Tijn. I´m 21 years old and I live in the Netherlands, next to Amsterdam.
In june I finished my high school. After that, I decided I didn´t want to go to university immediately. I wanted to do something different, I wanted:
- To see something of the world
So many people told me that South-America is such a beautiful place to be. The colonial, mix-between-Europe-and-native-city´s, the breathtaking nature like the Iguazu falls and ´the end of the world´ Ushuaia... And that´s just Argentina. After that, I knew it. I wanted to go see South-America.

- To meet new people
One thing I really like is meeting new people. It´s nice to hear everyone's story, to get known to a culture by hearing it from locals, I just really like that kind of stuff.

- To learn Spanish
In 2014, when I was 17, I followed some Spanish classes in Barcelona, Spain. I really liked and still like the language and I would love to become fluent in it. A friend of mine is half Spanish, his mom is from the South of Spain. When I´m at his home, we´re practising Spanish all the time. I also attended 3 weeks of Spanish classes in Buenos Aires from the 9th till the 27th of november, 2015. When I´m at stores, at a hostel or whatever, I try to speak as much Spanish as possible. I really want to become fluent in it.

So well, that´s me, and that´s why I´m in South-America right now :-)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

As said above, I love meeting new people, especially locals. It´s a great way to get known to a country and to get known to how people réally live, how people really are in a certain place. Not just how tourists see it.
I´ve been in some hostels and of course it´s really nice to meet so many people of Europe. But to be honest, I wanna meet more people from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, etc. When I´m back in Europe, I´m okay with meeting European people again ;-) And, of course, I would love to welcome you South-American guys (and others) in my hometown, Hillegom, the Netherlands. Hope my parents are going to be okay with it. If so, you´re all really welcome!

Intereses

I love playing soccer, I´m playing the game since I was 4 years old. When I´m not able to play soccer every day, like right now in South-America, I like to run through the city. In the winter, we often go to Germany, Austria or Switzerland with the family to ski. Too bad that´s not possible in the Netherlands.
Besides playing sports, I like to watch series on Netflix (Breaking Bad!!!), chill with friends, just the regular stuff ;p
Oh and I work in a beach-restaurant in the Netherlands, I really love it there! I think serving people in a restaurants is one of the most interesting, teaching and greatest things you can do at my age. You have to be so social and so nice all the time. I really love it!!

Música, películas y libros

I love Breaking Bad!!! It´s my favourite series. With all kinds of music, I´m okay, as long as it´s not classic music for too long. My favorite music is the music played in clubs, when I´m going out, I think.

Algo increíble que he hecho

In 2009, when I was 12, we became champions with our soccer team. It was the best day of my life!!!
No, without joking, I´m 18. Hopefully I´m going to do maaany amazing things in my life haha

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can tell you about all the European (capital) city´s I´ve been, we can talk about the difference in culture, we can play soccer if you have a football, I can teach you Dutch (but I´m not sure if you´re gonna like that haha).
I can cook pasta for you, it´s my specialty! We can walk through the city and maybe go out an evening? If you like going out, of course. I´m basically okay with everything, I´m not the most difficult person.
