About Me

I'mTij a Dutch guy living in Berlin and working at a small travel platform. I love to meet new people while traveling. Couchsurfing is therefore a great solution for me. I love to meet new people and learn about other cultures. I am new to Couchsurfing and amazingly excited about this new experience. I hope I can make lots of new friends and learn about their culture and cities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love to meet new people. I am extremely excited about learning about other cultures and places. Also it is perfect because it is a cheap way of traveling.

Interests

The things that I enjoy the most are the unexpected moments of joy. This can be moments that my friends and I start having just a drink and end up having a great night. Also meeting new people at parties and festivals. New connections (even if they are for a very short moment) are my favourite.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a music lover. This does not mean that I have knowledge about music but it does mean that I enjoy every moment with music more than I do without it. I like a lot of music from the Foo fighters to techno to Jazz.I love movies! My favourites are the Tarantino movies such as Django Unchained. But the movie that I know from heart is Home Alone 2 Lost In New York. I watch that movie at least twice a year. Books, I have just finished Sapiens what a greatly interesting view on the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lived in Nicaragua for half a year for an internship. During this period I lived in the capital, Managua, and this city has no tourists. Or at least none that stay there for more than one night. I felt like I lived among the locals more than any other foreign experience I have ever had.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an pretty good cook, so I would really like to cook with or for the hosts. I like to share my cooking skills. What I also would like to share are my experiences and I would also appreciate to learn about their experiences.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Thailand, Uganda, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Netherlands, Nicaragua, United States
