Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, let's be honest, it's mostly due to practical reasons. I usually stayed in hostels, but when I planned a trip to the UK, I had to realized that there are hardly any hostels. So I had to figure out alternatives to overpriced, soulless, impersonal hotels and found CS. Like everybody else here, I like to meet people, to get in touch with locals when I travel and to discover new spots. At the same time it is always a pleasure to help other travelers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I must admit that I don't like to splurge with "the most amazing thing". But for example the hitchhiking-tour on the Turkish mediterranean coast was a great experience. I enjoyed the heat, nature and sleeping at the sea whilst listening to the waves.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn languages (for example Russian, French), to share hints for traveling and to chat about the situation of the society where I stay. But overall I'm very open for your suggestions.
