Hello! I grew up in Scotland but am currently living in Warsaw with my girlfriend. I am a fairly quiet person but I love meeting like-minded people and getting into deep discussions about science, life, music and ideas. Unfortunately I am unable to host guests at the moment as my flat is just too small, but hopefully sometime soon I will find myself in a position to become a host for other travellers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel I don't want to just be a tourist, I want to experience the cultures and the local hangouts of the places I visit. It would be cool if someone could show me around the city so that I could see it from a local's perspective. Couchsurfing also seems like a great way to meet really interesting people.

Interests

I have loved music for as long as I can remember, and I have played the guitar since I was very young. More than anything I love a good conversation with an engaging person. I have gotten very much into reading (sci-fi at the moment) and have been slowly working towards writing a novel of my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite musicians are Gregory Alan Isakov, The Paper Kites and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I'm more than happy listening to almost anything.

My favourite film is 'Let the Right One In' and I really enjoy foreign language films and independent films.

I love reading fiction! If I had to choose my favourites they would be Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the Three Body Problem trilogy and the Hitchiker's Guide series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the Northern Lights in Iceland in winter - it was the second to last night of the trip and we hadn't seen anything. We were feeling a bit let down but we decided to have one last look outside the hostel before bed. There they were! We even got a time-lapse photo of them.
