Resumen
Sobre mí
Hi!
I’m Tim, 25, and from West Sussex in the UK. I was born in Armidale, NSW (why I’m able to enter the country at the moment!), but I’ve lived in the UK since I was 6. I was a Civil Servant back in the UK, but wanted a change of career and, given the Covid mess the UK is in, I decided to take a career break and try to return to Australia to explore my first home country. By some miracle I'm now here! I’ve only ever been back to the East coast, so I’m really excited to explore Perth for a while and then travel the rest of WA.
I like to keep fit and active (HIIT exercise, running, hiking, swimming), and also love playing sport, particularly tennis, hockey, skiing, golf (still improving!) and windsurfing. Would love to get better at Surfing!
I've stayed with a couple of other hosts during my travels in Guadeloupe in 2018, please do check out their references. I love Couchsurfing, and look forward to being able to host travellers some day when I have my own place!
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I think the best way to really know a place is to meet locals - and Couchsurfing provides the best way to do that. I'd like to Couchsurf to find out the best areas, the best beaches and to make friends with like-minded people.

Música, películas y libros
I like pretty relaxed music. Jack Johnson is a personal favourite.
My favourite movie is 'Catch me if you can' with DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, but I love all kinds of films.
Christopher Nolan and Charlie Kaufmann are two of my favourite directors, and I love anything that deals with philosophical issues in film. I have an interest in screenwriting and film making, and am trying to produce my first short.
Algo increíble que he hecho
I completed the 3 peaks challenge in the UK (climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours).
Enseña, aprende, comparte
(What I can share is in the next section :)
In terms of what I want to learn:
I'd love to meet with people who know about film-making, producing or screenwriting. I've been interested in this for a while and have tried to write a short script myself - but any advice would be welcome!
I'd love to learn to surf.
I'm always interested to hear recommendations from travellers on where I should travel to next!
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
I want to share stories, experiences of different countries, philosophies of life.
I can also offer the following:
- I love cooking and have spent a year of lockdown in the UK cooking for my family back in the UK so I’ve got lots of recipes I can share! Really happy to do shopping as well (especially looking forward to not having to wear a mask!). I’m not vegetarian or vegan, but I eat pretty much anything and would very happily adapt.
- I’m a qualified tennis coach and would happily provide free coaching / hitting to anyone who wants to improve their game. I’ve had lots of coaching experience throughout university and in uni summers. I can also string tennis rackets (only useful if you have a stringer and some string though…)
- I can speak pretty good conversational French as I’ve spent quite a lot of time in France as a kid. Also my Mum and Sister are both French teachers, so that also helped! Happy to speak in French with hosts, it’ll force me to improve too.
- I've done plenty of babysitting for my Mum's friends (kids aged 7 and 9) and really enjoy it. I might even be useful for some tutoring depending on the subject!
- I have a full UK driving license and 7 years experience, including with large vans.
- I pick new skills up quickly and I’m really happy to tackle any other tasks you might want done including cleaning, gardening etc.
