About Me

Hey, I’m Tim! Love traveling and a good laugh, with a local beer in tow. I've just started a trip around South America after backpacking Europe in the fall -- let's meet up!

A bit more about me: just finished university and am doing freelance work, so no commitments other than discovering new places. Plenty of older people giving advice say, “I wish I would have done X when I was 23 years old,” and I realized this is the time to go explore! So here I am looking to explore thousands of miles from home!

Globalist/Humanist. People are people. We’re all amazing in different ways. I'm from a small town and deeply value lifelong relationships, but want to learn more about the world through the people who live there.

Nothing is better than a good night out and showing my friends a good time when they visit me. I’m open to new experiences, checking out how different people and cultures have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world and meet amazing people in their everyday lives. There are so many incredible cultures to experience and beautiful places to more deeply understand. I'm looking for a more local, inexpensive experience relative to Airbnb and know Couchsurfing is the way to go.

Music, Movies, and Books

If it’s good music, it’s worth listening to. Show me what you've got!

My music taste is pretty diverse—my dad was a rock DJ in the 70s so I grew up with a bit of everything. You usually can find me listening to rap, r&b, alternative rock, or techno. It depends on the vibe and the time of day. Since I’m a New York guy, I can bump to Biggie pretty much whenever, but love throwing in some alternative music I found in New Zealand to switch things up. If I’m out dancing, big fan of techno or reggaeton.

Favorite movies are crime and war movies--stuff like The Godfather II, Apocalypse Now--but still love a goofy early 2000s comedy (Adam Sandler movies, stuff like that). I'm more into TV--love Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, Westworld on the serious end, but always down for The Office and standup comedy.

I've picked up a few books, not too much recently. I just bought The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, so let's see how this goes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent October working in a hostel in Budapest. Met so many incredible people, got to be a tour guide in a new city and have one hell of a time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach a bit about what I’ve done at school. The stuff that might be most interesting is what’s going on in America right now. I’ve got some political work experience and combined with some of what I do at school, happy to provide an unfiltered lesson into what’s going on! Should be interesting!

Can teach a few workouts, share some yoga exercises, teach English, just have some good chat. If you're writing anything can edit or can do some writing for you.

I really want to learn more about the local cultures I’m visiting, and try to get a deeper conception of life in different countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to help out if you need help moving/lifting things around the house.

Can share some good stories and a bit of insight into what’s happening in America right now (it’s absolutely crazy!)
