My name is Tim Unnerstall, I am 19 years old and I am from Germany. Currently I am living in Indiana and work as an Au Pair. That means I live in a hostfamily and care for the kid basically as a nanny ( I am a man, so I consider myself more a manny or bro-pair :-D). While I live in the states I love to travel the US to get to know the whole beautiful variety of it. I love music (I play guitars, drums, bass and a little bit of piano) and art. While we were couchsurfing in Chicago I had a great experience jamming along with our host. I would love to get to know you and looking forward meeting you! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an Au Pair I am not blessed with great money so couchsurfing is a great way to save those extra bucks that would go into a hotel. But even if I had all the money in the world I would always prefer couchsurfing because I am more fascinated by the people who share the love and energy by being a host and let people into their homes and lives. It's a great experience to get to know the story behind those awesome people.

Interests

As mentioned before I play the guitar, drums, bass and piano. I love impromptu jams with friends or strangers and really enjoy conversations about the art of music. I also like sports like soccer, football, basketball (I am 6 ft 6/1,97m ;) ) and also running and going to the gym.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really don't have any particular favorites of musical interprets because I appreciate the whole variety of all the genres. But to name a few: The Roots, Killswitch Engage, Kendrick Llamar, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Marcus Miller, Thy art is murder, Frank Sinatra.. so as you can see there is metal, hip hop, funk, jazz.. everything basically. I am very open and embrace new influences and inspiration. I love trashy and comedic movies like the naked gun, sharknado, mega shark vs giant octopus and especially Tarantino. I think my favorite movie is Pulp Fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lost about 45 pounds and ran a halfmarathon in 1:48h which I both accomplished in the year I am living in the USA. I am extremely motivated to make great things happen, but I also love to relax and eat a lot.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share my music and energy and a bit of German Culture with my host. I am also a decent cook, so if there is time I would be happy to get a meal going for you. I make the best meatballs, no kidding.
