About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I live on a boat so I keep moving.

2016.
I am in Macon until April 2017 wintering in the marina which is about half a mile north of the town centre.

ABOUT ME
I am a writer and sailor and invariably doing one or the other. I live on and travel on my yacht 'Lady H'. I am happy to share my boat with fellow travelers, wherever I am.

WARNING!!!! Sailing is addictive! Three couch surfers who I have met are now hooked and have already been sailing in the Caribbean.

PHILOSOPHY
This planet is only ours for the duration of our stay. Clean up a little garbage on your way out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I have said elsewhere. My couch is a cabin on a boat and I am not always in the same place.

I expect a contribution of 10 Euros a night per person to help cover food and fuel.

October thru April. French canals and rivers based in Macon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had people surfing my couch/cabin for a number of years. You can see what it is like at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxoZjnFiA58&feature=plcp

Interests

Sailing, writing, history, travel. Just love to feel the atmosphere in a foreign port. Have also been introduced to geocaching by my daughter and will happily share caches in the area that are only accessible by boat.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that makes me laugh, cry or think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Talked to dolphins in the Red Sea.
Seeing my baby daughter for the first time.
Finding my faithful companion 'Jack Sparrow' on a Greek island five years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are unable to learn new things then you are probably too old to live! I will happily teach the rudiments of sailing if I have the time and the weather is okay.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bangladesh, Cyprus, France, Germany, Guyana, Italy, Kenya, Sri Lanka

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, Guyana, Italy, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom
