Overview
About Me
They'd probably say that depending on the situation I'm a person of opposites: quiet and talkative, silly and contemplative, economical but generous, focussed on detail but a big-picture kind of guy. From what others tell me I'm quite sensitive to moods, feelings or atmosphere, a bit quirky in my idiosyncrasies but generally pretty low maintenance, endowed with a supreme sense for cosiness and the beauty of the moment, I'm very straight-forward, honest and always good to talk to unless you're the extremely early bird.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The usual: welcome people, hope for poetic justice on a global scale.
Interests
As a literature Ph.D. I'm (more or less) obviously into reading, movies and conversation, trying to figure out what holds the world together in its innermost self. I enjoy all kinds of sports from soccer to swimming to beach volleyball, love to travel, love to eat but don't like to cook. I'm fascinated by cultural differences and curious about parallels. Music is with me most of my day and a beer every now and then never hurt anyone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sat amidst the ruins of a Maya temple, scuba-dived, travelled the Highlands, a glacier and a desert; I took leave of someone dying; I once told someone I loved her and she felt the same.
