ABOUT ME

You'll find out if we meet.

Living with & on the road with my partner Joey

see www.redmorpheus.com for more about her

PHILOSOPHY

Absolute scepticism is a snake biting it's own tail, when becoming scpetic about being scpetic. Anyway, I still keep asking and do not take anything for more than a perception, as that's all I got.

Somehow along the line of non-duality, seeing myself as not sharply different from people and things around me...
In my dreams, everything I see is a representation of my own subconsciousness. I'm still trying to figure out if it's any different in waking life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Has always been great, both as host and guest.

Interests

Life in general. Diversity. Things I haven't done before. Thoughts I didn't think before. Feelings I never felt before.

But there is no way to do/think/feel the same thing twice, as the doer/thinker/feeler has changed.

So basically I'm interested in everything?

Still some stuff I don't care. Maybe the degree of interesst increases with the intensity of the percived event and the amount of my own enrolment. So doing sports may be interesint sometimes, while watching it I find very hard to get excited about, for example.

Music, Movies, and Books

Manymany. What to say? I guess if I'd start a list it would give some wrong impression because I'd forget some important stuff.

Musik:
Well.
Actually that would go on forever, so: The kind of sound that suits the place it's in. There is hardly any music good in itself, but when all the other factors are in tune, lot of things are great.

Films:
I don't watch too many movies (But Joey does:-) .
maybe:
Dr. Paranassus (just watched it and am really amazed...)
City of lost Children
Waking Life

Books:
Some authors maybe...
Michael Ende
Heinrich Böll
Erich Kästner (Fabian!)
Hermann Hesse
Aldous Huxley
Christian Kracht
Douglas Hofstaeter
Douglas Adams
Die Endeckung des Himmels
God of small things

ahj.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What does amazing mean? I've been born... think that's pretty amazing already.
Guess this is about stuff you can bragg with on parties, so lets see:

Eating a living worm in a bus in Laos while living a vegetarians life maybe?
Hitchiking a camelcart?
Peeing into an expensive hotels kitchens extractionhood from the rooftop as a teenager?
Spending a night under a tree in Hide Park (London)?
Founding and maintainging a successful website for volunteer free work around the world? (www.independentvolunteer.org)
Living as a Hippie in disguise, moving from demonstrations and street theater against wars to serious discussions with multinationals at UN climate change conferences?

who cares... more to come anyway :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Love learning languages... few words like friend, crazy, fish, dream, I'm laying an egg and so on in as many languages as possible :-)

Love learning all kinds of other stuff, too.

Well, my education is in science and environment, so I can explain a little bit of physics and renewable energies to people. Got more into economics recently...
Now working mostly on economics of avoided deforestation and putting value on strange things like carbon and biodiversity. Figuring out why some people manage to keep their forests alive and others don't.

hehe.
