ABOUT ME
My name's Tim, and I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia.
After a year long trip around the world in 2011 I've spent the last 18 months hungry for more travel experiences.
I've just moved to Paris and will be staying here for the summer, trying to learn the language and meet as many interesting people as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Once I began planning to travel in 2011 (and discovered Couchsurfing) I opened my doors to couchsurfers in my home town of Sydney, and had a great time hosting them. I've since been surfing throughout the USA, Canada and France and have been taken aback by the kind hospitality that I've been shown.
I'm now happy to return the favour to interesting travellers visiting Paris.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a bunch of couchsurfers so far and have enjoyed the time spent with all of them. I've learnt a lot about various cultures as well as others' impressions of Australia. Hanging out with foreigners makes me appreciate my own city more, which is always good!
I've surfed in the US, Canada and France, and have found all my hosts to be amazingly hospitable and helpful, showing me parts of town that I would have otherwise not known about. Have made some great friends through surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Struggling for an hour to fit snow chains near Andorra in -3°C snow with no gloves, only to finally find out that a snow plough had since come through and not only made chains redundant, but downright unsafe.
Stubbornly and unnecessarily driving with chains anyway, then having to remove them in now -7°C snow without gloves, getting them stuck around the brakes and having to have one of us rev the car in reverse whilst the other pulled the chains out from around the brake.
