Overview
About Me
*I will be in Germany and Scotland in July and August, so will not be able to host this summer*
I am a PhD student in Politics at the University of Toronto, who previously lived in Scotland on student and travel visas.
I am laid back person with a dry sense of humour who enjoys good conversations over drinks or walks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have had great experiences couchsurfing in Belgium, Estonia, Scotland, Germany and Vancouver. My hosts were able to show me parts of the city that I wouldn't be able to find myself, and took me to cultural events and some of the better (and sometimes hidden!) bars the cities had to offer. I was able to get a lot more out of the trip than I would have otherwise, and am very grateful for their hospitality.
Interests
I enjoy getting feel for new cities, villages and landscapes by foot. I am very interested in learning about an area's history, architecture, culture, and music. I also heartily enjoy finding the local's favourite bars/pubs/taverns and trying regional beers or ales.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite singer is Bob Dylan (though Leonard Cohen is catching up), my favourite directors are the Coen Brothers and Werner Herzog, and my favourite fiction author is Dostoevsky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked the West Highland Way, which is a 96 mile walk in Scotland from northern Glasgow to Fort William (Highlands) over 7 days. I also hitchiked around the entirety of Iceland.
