About Me

I live in Lawrence, KS, where I moved to in 2013 for school from Riverside, CA. Was born and raided in Riverside but wanted to explore other parts of the country so I went to KU for my undergrad and basically never left! I love the Midwest. The friendliness and slower life style is something I instantly fell in love with.

I work for KU in the athletics department. I work in video. It's a tough job to sum up quickly, but I basically work on all things video. I shoot and edit videos for social media, in-arena shows, and produce TV broadcasts for our various sports. It's an often times exhausting job, but very rewarding. I get to work with a lot of great people and great athletes. And as someone who has never been very athletic, I still get to be around sports all the time!

Besides work, I enjoy playing video games, I am a big TV fan, I love a great meal, and most of all, I love my cat Annie. I am well on track to be a crazy cat man someday, and I am fine with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the country more. More weekend road trips and such when I can. But I don't have a lot of money, so being able to save on hotels is important. But mostly, I like connecting with people. Getting to meet new people is always a treat. I love hearing stories.

Interests

I am a big sports fan. I love music, TV, movies, cats, cheese, beer, civil politics discussions, and looking at the stars.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently listening to a lot of War on Drugs, Beach House, Local Natives, stuff like that. My favorite movie ever is probably 2001, A Space Odyssey. But I generally turn to more lighthearted (but still punch you in the gut films). Big fan of 500 Days of Summer.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, Mexico
