Interesses

For me what is most interesting in life is the variety of the world. I like to see how people live in different places and what sort of dreams keep them going. I like plants a lot, too; wherever I go I take photographs of interesting species and collect them by family. When I travel, I try to walk as much as I can and keep my eyes open.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

Last summer I travelled in the American northwest and made my way up to Vancouver. From there I took a ferry out to Victoria through the Salish Sea. The sky and water were clear and calm and through the mist I could see fishing boats out among the islands. Though many on the ferry seemed insensitive to the beautiful scene unfolding in the middle of their commute.

Later in the year I went to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, which is an old volcanic crater filled with snowmelt to form the deepest lake in the country. In the middle of the lake a newer cone pushed up through the surface and from the edge of the lake one can take a boat over to hike to its top. I scrambled up with my brother to the tiny inner crater which was filled with pumice in colors of blood and ash and the sun-bleached bones of dead trees. A real gateway to the underworld!
