Overview
About Me
My name is Tim. I'm 29, and looking for some direction by getting myself lost.
I crossed the country over about 3.5 months in 2010, and circled the globe in 2013, thanks in a huge part to CouchSurfing. I'm (sort of) settled down in Portland now, and looking to pay it back to the community.
Some background: I grew up outside of Boston, MA, hiked biked & skied my way across New England, spent 4 years studying architecture at MIT, moved to DC, got a job, lost a job, got a waiter job, quit my waiter job, spent a season as a nomad, built an Earthship, came back to Boston and worked as a real architect (finally) for about 2 years. I moved to Portland to attend grad school, and now I work for a sustainable design/build startup.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love people. I love stories. I love meeting people, telling them stories, and then creating new stories with the people I've met.
Interests
Outdoorsy stuff - I hike, mountain bike, climb rocks, snowboard, etc.
Artsy stuff - I design buildings and websites, make videos, write/play music.
I love architecture and beer. I've made a little of both myself, and I'm hoping to end up with a career in at least one. Possibly both.
