ABOUT US

NIGEL:
An easygoing, confident, outgoing individual. People who know me would say i'm a good communicator and listen to what people have to say. In my career i'm dedicated, hardworking and always set out goals which I know I can achieve. I believe no one was born prefect and therefore am looking for ways in which I can improve myself as a person and learn from what other people have to say in providing their own views. I believe variety is the spice of life and I can achieve this through travel and interacting with different cultures and people. Being brought up in Brisbane and on a farm I have had a life on the land with horses and cattle while also having a varied city life.

SORANA:
An optimistic and fun person, with roots in Romania and NYC, and an international mindset. I moved to England with the initial purpose to improving my career and doing business school. I fell in with the multicultural mix that London has to offer so i decided to establish myself here in order to have a really good balance with both working life and travel while meeting new people and developing my marketing business.

US:
We met, fell in love and now excited to share our passions for travelling and seeking new adventures in life - the world is our oyster.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that in life you get in return what you put out to start with the way of positive energy - good karma. Since we have been together we have noticed that we attract people with a positive mindset and outlook towards other people to help them when needed - good things come to those who wait.

Our philosophy on life is to learn by interacting with different cultures, people and places. From this we can learn how to better improve our lifestyle while travelling now our number one passion in conjunction with biking, running, hiking, singing, indoor rock climbing, salsa dancing and tennis. As a couple we would like to share our experiences with other people, the signs and sounds, people and places which make life an endless adventure. With CS this will allow us to achieve these goals and give life more purpose and not to just sit around working a 9 to 5 job and spend the rest of my life wondering what is out there? Instead we are living life now and when older we will have gained a wealth of knowledge to pass onto other people and felt I had lived a full life thanks to travel through CS as a medium.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking for nice people that are willing to offer us a place to stay while we learn about their culture and things to see or do their area. In return, we are offering our friendship, support to others who would like to explore our part of the world in Australia. Romania or the UK. Further, we love to share travel stories and share knowledge on other topics of interest such as fitness, travel and relationships.

Music, Movies, and Books

NIGEL: Music i like to listen to is rnb, dance, reggae, light rock and alternative. Bands are matchbox 20, The Fray, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Crowded House. I like to watch movies based on real life events but also epics and action. My favorites are braveheart, titanic, green mile, shawshank redemption, Ray, Raging Bull, Good Fellas and Catch me if you can! Books they I have liked reading are Davinci Code, Lord of the Rings, twilight, Lord of the flies and harry potter.

SORANA: I like to listen to house/electronic music and timeless hits, especially live music . I'm a big cinema enthusiast and recently venturing into novel writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

NIGEL: I have been to China to see the Beijing Olympics, Terracotta Warriors and Great wall. In Thailand I saw the royal palace made of Gold Leaf and the Great Gold Buddha. In Australia seen the great barrier reef and Ayers Rock. Watching the sun rise over the grand canyon. Climbing mount Bromo volcano in Surabaya. Alaska with Mount McKinley the tallest mountain in north America to mushing in the Yukon and standing at the Arctic Circle.

SORANA: I have jumped off a 20m shipwreck when 17 at night. Ran three marathons within 2 months in 2016 and 2017 was a buck list year for the purpose of getting to know my self better with 12 trips in the year. I saw 4 wonders of the world and looking forward to exploring the other 3 with Nigel . My family is in 4 countries on 2 continents, therefore I always combine visiting family with travel and exploring.

Teach, Learn, Share

We speak 5 language between ourselves (english, romanian, german, italian and spanish) and welcome every opportunity to speak them or learn new ones and teach others.
