CURRENT MISSION

To see and explore as much of the world as possible! I never had the chance to travel much when I was younger so I'm embracing the opportunity now. I'm fascinated by languages and I love to meet new people!

Currently leaving India/Nepal after four months and moving on to Australia for a year of working (and a bit more traveling). In the fall I'll be applying to return to university in the US for medicine.

ABOUT ME

Just a guy who loves to travel and is lucky enough to have the luxury of doing so. Born in the US, in sunny south Florida, and I've recently finished teaching for a few years in South Korea. I'm a lifelong music lover and I'll probably be traveling with a guitar if you meet me in Australia/NZ. This means if you also play anything musical then we'll need to have some time to jam.

Wake up everyday in a fresh state of mind--don't let yesterday's baggage hold today hostage. If you open up your life to unfamiliar and challenging experiences you will change yourself for the better! Care about the people you meet like members of your own family, kindness repays kindness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted in the past when I was located in a largish apartment in Busan, Korea, but after moving to a tiny one-room in Seoul I was unable to host anymore. Now I'm traveling and looking for people interested in meeting up or hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experience is somewhat limited compared to other veterans of this site! I've hosted a few times but only rarely surfed myself.

I'm a lifelong lover of music, and although I don't play as much any more I still need to hear it on a daily basis. Stevie Wonder, Stereolab, Radiohead, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Hiatus Kaiyote, Imogen Heap, Sly and the Family Stone, Astrud Gilberto, People Under the Stairs, De la Soul, Earth Wind & Fire, A Tribe Called Quest, Zappa, Coltrane, Steely Dan, MMW, Soulive, McCoy Tyner, Beatles, James Brown, Hendrix, Gorillaz, Chili Peppers, Roy Ayers, Ween, Phish, Strokes, Buena Vista Social Club, Brazilian Girls, Deltron, Grateful Dead, so many others. The past few months have found me reading much more. I'm a nut for science fiction and fantasy, but I also enjoy some modern lit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Horse trekking through China and staying with nomadic Tibetan families. As dusk fell we rode through a valley surrounded by hundreds of sheep and yaks heading home for the night, their hypnotic droning echoing from the mountains. It was a surreal experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of experience playing guitar, so if you want any lessons I'd be more than happy to share what I know. Other than that I can provide an easy soundtrack for a relaxed night of beer drinking.

What I Can Share with Hosts
