Overview
About Me
Living and working in Jakarta since May 2015 after running away from high school teaching in country Victoria, Australia. Enjoying improving my Bahasa Indonesia, finding time to cook/read/argue/party and hopefully some travel around SE Asia during my year or two of living here.
Oop, no, change of plan. After one year in Jakarta, I'm off to America and then Europe in the second half of 2016.
New change of plan. America didn't happen, but I cycled across Canada, then went home to teach in Oz for 3 months, and now (January '17) I'm staying near Geneva about to do a French course :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To arrive to someone who's expecting me, to chat about what's great in the world and maybe after a day or two and some wine, about what could be improved. Absorb some local advice, share some cooking and some stories and maybe the latest fresh-off-the-barbie Aussie dance moves. I'm also always all ears for the hottest domestic cleaning tips.
Interests
Finding the balance b/w jokes and serious, self and generosity, honest and practical, loose and focused, cooking and eating out, saying "hi how you going?" and "hey what's up?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I threw this avocado stone blindly over my head and swished it into the compost, at least a few metres away, and we are talking a little bench top compost
(updating my profile 5 years on but haven't topped this)
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach Indonesian, handstands, pizza cooking, bike mechanics etc.
I'd be an enthusiastic partner in Socratic analysis, aerobics, football, singing, shakespearean insult exchanges etc.
I would be an attentive student in all of the above as well as woodwork, botany, any cooking, any philosophy, call and response singing fun etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking, fun, my parents' warmth and level headedness, good articulation on request and various naive young thoughts expressed in a non-threatening manner
Countries I’ve Lived In
Australia, Indonesia, Nauru, United States
