About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking to share the wonders of Okinawa, and meet others from around the globe!
ABOUT ME
I am 38 and have been living in Okinawa for 10 years. I love SCUBA Diving and meeting people from all over the world. I am a PADI SCUBA Instructor. I was an exchange student way back in high school and that has shaped my life to this day. I enjoy meeting new people, learning about different cultures and hearing different points of view. I am also a fan of good cooking, and I love to cook, and I also enjoy photography.
PHILOSOPHY
I am a Buddhist so my philosophy is pretty much live & let live, be good to others & do good things for good Karmic effect. I am open minded and I think the world needs more people to meet & understand others outside of their own personal background. If we take the time to learn other cultures, you'll see we're not so different in the grand scheme of things!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to host people and go diving in the waters off Okinawa. Work is hectic, and I travel quite a bit. I will need to know exact dates you are looking to stay at my place if you want to surf the couch. If you are an independent traveler and want to come to Okinawa let me know. I will host if I can, but it will depend on my availability with work. Email me with your dates and what you are looking to do while in Okinawa and I can help you plan possibly even if I can't host. I have 2 fold out couch/futons to use and a cot or a futon on the floor. Blankets and pillows are in no short supply and I enjoy the company!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm pretty open to all music, but not to fond of Rap / Hip Hop or Country music. That being said, I do have a little of everything downloaded onto the old iPod.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen and experienced a lot, but the one thing that changed my life was being an exchange student to Japan back in high school with the Rotary Club. I would not trade that for anything. It showed me another culture and way of thinking and gave me a broader world view that I have today.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm willing to teach what I know about Okinawa and it's people. I am also an avid SCUBA diver and an instructor. I am willing to show you some great diving and locations in Okinawa, while diving safely and within your certification level. If you're interested in SCUBA lessons, or tours, just be aware they aren't free.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand
Countries I’ve Lived In
Japan, United States
