HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't done much hosting at my current location in NY - due to all the roommates I have. But I like to meet up with travelers and host when I can, as well as surf couches when I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my couchsurfing experience was when I was living in Japan. I had a few travelers stay with me at my place out in the middle of nowhere. I also was hosted by a number of fellow expats in Japan. Lovely people, all!

Musica, film e libri

I read mostly non-fiction. Steve Pinker writes a lot of great books on language, psychology, and so on. I've read a lot of books on evolution. Lately, I'm also trying to get more into history.

For non-fiction, I do like fantasy novels. Dragonlance and Dragonriders of Pern are two series I enjoy.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I climbed Mt. Fuji overnight and saw the sunrise from the top. The view was incredible!

I hiked/climbed all (I think) of the main peaks in Rio, with beautiful views and beautiful weather.

I've hitchhiked all over Japan. It took me out of my comfort zone and into the lives of strangers - a great experience!

I have some skills with a frisbee (I used to play; haven't done much lately). I'm very serious about swing dancing, and guitar. I'm decent at ice skating and snowboarding.
