About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on yet another adventure! This time through North, Central and South America.

ABOUT ME

I'm an Aussie who has been working in an awesome job for the last couple of years creating digital resources to help Aboriginal kids learn to read in their first language.

My partner and I have got a few months to travel around the Americas now and plan to make the most of every minute.

I also have a lot of interests, hobbies and passions and there's nothing better than being able to share them with others.

Looking for travel, fun, new experiences, getting to know a lot of people, learning everything there is and getting the most out of la vida latina!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With Couch Surfing I'm hoping to explore new cultures through meeting awesome locals who can give me a true idea of their city/culture rather than just a superficial glance most tourists get. I hope to have a lot to offer in return and having lived in so many different cities and countries has only left me wanting more!

Interests

My big interests would be: Music - Electric guitar, french horn and trumpet; learning new languages; hiking; surf skiing; aviation (flying and flight sims); rock climbing; reading really good books that blow your hair back, (e.g. Dawkins, Paul Davies, le monde de Sophie) ones that can change my views on life...; movies; meeting new people; going out; science and maths; philosophy; history; civ V; SCII; good food; listening to good music; economics; computer programming ...

I also love the outdoors, hiking and being active.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky to have done so many amazing things in my short life from seeing every continent except Antarctica, sailing a dangerous piece of ocean (Hobart to Sydney) to camping solo in the middle of the Australian outback and many things in between.

A couple of years ago I spent an entire year overseas, mostly living and working in France. It was an exhilarating and terrifying experience being thrown into an entirely different language and foreign culture. During this time I also backpacked solo through much of Western Europe as well as making my way through the East, the former Yugoslavia and Turkey.
Of course so many things happened along the way but what stuck with me were the people, many of whom I'm still in touch with. I've done a few similar trips and have never regretted making new friends and getting to know complete strangers.

Teach, Learn, Share

Having worked in several bars while travelling and studying, I can teach you how to make some wicked cocktails...

I also volunteered to assist a refugee family for a year and a half who could initially barely speak any English so I have some experience teaching that too.

I worked as a university tutor teaching maths and physics for a year, so I might be able to help out with homework or for any students out there or those interested!

I'm confident I could teach you at least the basics of playing guitar (or french horn for that matter!), computer programming, German, French, surf skiing,
