About Me
Hi there :)
I'm Timmy, a tall, easy going guy from Belgium. Currently I'm traveling around, but I try to find a good balance between work and fun. I really enjoy music, the harder guitar kind ;) and I like to go to festivals and music gigs.
To relax my mind I like to explore nature and wild life, above and below the surface. This is also why I started to scuba dive 4 years ago and now I'm still active in a dive club. In short I'm a big fan of the water :D. (Not on a boat 😅) Above the surface I like to discover some national parks or hidden nature treasures (like abandoned places where nature took back over, never been to such a place but on my wish list for sure).
I like to be active and do some sports, like swimming, surfing, longboarding, mountainbiking, snowboarding, cliff diving, etc. As long as I feel the adrenaline ;)
I like food and I eat almost everything. Everytime I'm away I try something new, so if you want to cook together some time, count me in.
I really like to chat with a drink or two ;).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Countries are just lines, drawn in the sand with a stick -Enter Shikari-
I want to explore new places, cultures and people. In the end we're all the same with a different story to tell, and I would like to get to know these stories. Also I want to break free from the typical tourist ways to travel (like the way I used to travel, planning everything in advance ;) ). I'm convinced that the locals know the specials spots and that I will get to know a country and his inhabitants better this way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I can listen to all kinds of music, but I prefer post-hardcore, rock, punk. Like The offspring, Sum 41, Blink 182, A day to remember, Enter Shikari,... I can also appreciate some jazzy chill tunes.
Movies: All kinds (I'm a real movie fanatic) but no horror, brrr ;)
I don't read a lot of books, just started readibg alot on my travel. Self help books and so on... but I should definitely do it more, so if you have recommendations. let me know :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It might sound stupid, but I amazed myself that I had the courage to start and finish the course to become a teacher while working full-time as a welder. And start traveling alone for 1.5 year0
Teach, Learn, Share
I think people can learn their whole lives, but they have to be open minded about it. I can't learn you something big (except for dutch or welding) but we can definitely learn each other small things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a quite a handy man, so if you need help with something, ask me, so we can roll up our sleeves :)
