Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up in a military family, so I was "the new kid" quite a bit. That first person you meet in a new city is a bit of godsend, and though I do appreciate solitude, it's always great to make friends and stir up some experiences.

Interests

I'm really into trail running, soccer, snowboarding, skating, and just about anything active. Dancing, festivals, violin, reading, writing, hiking, photography... the list goes on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a total science-fiction and fantasy guy, but I can get into any kind of book (right now I'm trudging through A Song of Ice and Fire). For work I'm a music journalist, so I appreciate any and all music: I dig string quartets, grew up with grunge, and I love electronic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played the lead role in a flash mob to Call Me Maybe.
On a serious note, I had the incredible opportunity to spend some time in India and it absolutely changed my life. I can't wait to return to that part of the world.
