About Me

CURRENT MISSION

mission still to be fully determined. This I do know: to love and make the world a little better.

ABOUT ME

I couldn't live without opportunity, movement, and good coffee. I like trying new things, being in transit, meeting wonderful people, I love reading good stories, I want to improve and maintain my self emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically until the day I die, for the sake of everyone around me, and for me. I want my existence to be a blessing. I like spinning poi, have you heard of it? I like doing monkey gymnastics, cooking, the local beer, central american coffee, avocados with salt and mangos with or without chile.
I am easy to get along with because I am trying my best to be aware of others and myself, how I influence the world nearby. I am looking to serve people as a doctor in the future, in places that do not have medical care. Because they are worth it, because it is what makes me the most alive, because I love being there. I am a Christ follower, try to understand and not judge, trying to love all of mankind for what they are. Heaven or hell begins here and right now, depending on what you choose here, and right now. I think most people would choose to be good, and would be better people, if they could only escape that which entangles them. If we could only find out what those entanglements are, and how to free ourselves!

PHILOSOPHY

be willing to be touched by anything and anyone who affects you. Be open, share what you got, speak less and listen more, try your hardest but relax well when the time comes. .

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Why didn't someone tell me about it before now?

Interests

books, the moment you leave an airport and start bargaining for a taxi and finally get in, the moment you get into a hostel and throw down your heavy pack and look out the window at the streets below, the moment you meet someone new and you know you're going to be friends, taking pictures, making things of wood, soccer, packing for a trip, learning spanish, writing long letters, the searching and finding of a quiet spot to be alone, sleeping in strange places, surviving, looking for funky pants, the local beer, hammocks, cooking, creating ways to live simply.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books which have shaped me: Love in the Time of Cholera-Marquez, Milan Kundera, A.S. Byatt, B K-Dostoyevsky, East of Eden-Steinbeck, Out of Solitude-Nouwen, Lord of the Rings-Tolkien. Anything C.S. Lewis.
Music: Miles Davis, Railroad Earth, Iron and Wine, M. Ward, Over the Rhine, The Incredible Jimmy Smith, coldplay, Buena Vista S.C., Leo Kottke, Coltrane, Nick Drake, Radiohead, U2, Elbow, Bon Iver.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was given bottle of homemade wine from an old man on the Isle of Capri, I bought a handful of ripe olives and crusty bread, and sat overlooking the cliffs on the sea, enjoying the pure joy of existing. I found a little nook underneath a closed restaurant to sleep for the night, and woke up in the wee hours completely dehydrated and desperate. I considered jumping over someone's spiky fence and looking for dog water until right then, I stumbled across an unopened two liter bottle of Avian inexplicably placed on the path. God is in the small things.
I lived on a huge ship which sailed through the atlantic and served West Africans who needed medical care. And honestly, as you might imagine, they did more for me that I could **ever** do for them. I'm spending the rest of my life in debt and gratitude.
Being alive! When I'm fully aware of it, which isn't too often enough, I'm flabbergasted by us all.
