Overview
About Me
I'm a life-long New Yorker who recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA in Film Directing at California Institute of the Arts. I make films, write essays, and make zines (self-published tiny magazines or artist books).
I love reading and books, and my favorite thing to do in a new city is to explore as many used bookshops as I possibly can -- it's a great way to get to know a new place!
I'm also a very politically-minded (left-wing) person, and am always trying to find ways of making the world a freer, better, more equitable place. I've been a participant in the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and in NYC I worked with a group called Books Through Bars that sent free books to incarcerated people. Still trying to find ways of being more politically active in my new home city and in the era of Trump. If you're a fellow Angelino who knows of radical groups or projects in the city, hit me up :)
I think the best things in life are learning, laughing, and good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been to film school twice, so obviously I like movies a lot! Big fan of Robert Altman, Jean-Luc Godard, Yasujiro Ozu, and Wes Anderson. Some more favorite films here: https://mubi.com/users/5067024/favourites
I read a lot of philosophy, film and art history, and political theory. Also love Italo Calvino, Stanislaw Lem, Tom McCarthy, Ursula K LeGuin, and Annie Dillard. Currently reading Borges and loving it.
Music there's too much to list! I have pretty wide taste (everything from '60s girl group, to old timey folk, to post-punk, to avant-garde classical), and am always excited to share whatever I'm enjoying at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I lived in Copenhagen for a month, in the "semi-autonomous freetown" of Christiania (an abandoned military fort squatted by hippies since the '70s), where I helped put on a fully experiential, multi-sensorial "art meal" made up of 12 dishes, each inspired by a different utopian story or community.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a recent transplant to LA, here's the one thing I can share about the city: don't leave without paying a visit to the Museum of Jurassic Technology. It's the strangest and most magical place I've ever been!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to give you some copies of my zines, share some music or movies, cook you something, or share a friendly conversation over some tea. I also love to teach and skillshare, so if you've ever wanted to know how to make zines, edit video, or shoot film or photos, feel free to ask.
