About Me

CURRENT MISSION

visit the longest and higest mountain ranges of the world

ABOUT ME

I am currently on a trip to which includes south america, australia (very briefly) the philipines (to learn scuba diving) and then the Himalayas for some hardcore trekiking! I lived in Leipzig, Germany (go if you haven¨t been)for 6 years working as a part time english teacher, rock climbing instructor and then full time kindergarten carer (for 4.5 years). I am not a great planner, i prefer to see where life takes me. I guess that is one of the attractions of couch surfing for me. You can read a profile but don´t know what the people are realy like until you meet them, well, that and the free accomodation, insiders knowledge and adventure of meeting new people.

I like sports, music, flm, exploring new places, embarrising my self whilst trying to learn new languages. I like helpful, thoughtful people who go out of their way to do something for someone they might not even know. I love food, cooking it, eating it, discovering new tastes. The strangest thing that I have ever eaten was in Malawi, it smelt of fish but tasted like "%!&. After trying it, I discovered that it was ´lake fly cake´. I dislike (but sadly tolerate) closed minded people who, convinced that they are right about everything refuse to see the world trough someone else´s eyes.

I love the sound of rain on a tent, especially when I am in it with (a) good friend(s), pack of cards (or other game) and a nice bottle of red.

PHILOSOPHY

Greet the world with a smile, it makes life a lot easier.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a lightening storm on a barren volcano at 3500m whilst boiled sweet sized hail hammered down on me and my girlfriend. Felt the power of Iguazu falls in Argentina. Swam in a pool at the top of Victoria falls in Zimbabwe. White water rafting down the zambezi. A 111 m Bungee jump. Some big mountain routes (climbing) in the European Alps and Spain. Snowboarding down un-tracked fresh deep powder in the french alps. Saw the northern lights in Canada. Was blown away by the amazing cirque de soleil. Hiked around Torres del Paine mountain range. Watched the sunrise at Mount Fitzroy. Watched the sun set in the serengetti. Millenium fireworks on the Thanmes, London (and the ammount of empty champagne bottles left afterwards). Gone to the wrong airport to catch a flight.
