About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finishing my architecture studies at Ghent University next school year to start a (Musical) Theatre Course in Amsterdam the year after next year.
ABOUT ME
Open, always looking on the bright side of life, down to earth and flexible (always adapting to whatever situation occurs), enthousiast, creative and mostly having quite a lot happening, thinking about lots of things at the same time, interested in lots and lots of things, eager to learn, lots and lots to talk about...
PHILOSOPHY
Vivre ce n'est pas sérieux, ce n'est pas grave. C'est une aventure, c'est presqu'un jeu. Il faut fuir la gravité des imbiciles.
- Jacques Brel
When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t understand the assignment. I told them they didnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t understand life.
- John Lennon
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Your life is like a story, people you meet are always contributing to your story and make it brighter. If you help people, the good will come back to you. So let's help eachother, believe in eachother, color eachother's stories.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had some couchsurfing exprience, staying with a sports guy in Barcelona last year, and a female singer in Amsterdam the year before. Both were great experiences! I never hosted anyone yet, though, because I live in a small room in a student home back in Ghent. But next month, I'm moving to a house with some friends, with a couch available, and I would love to host some people myself, soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Lots and lots and lots... Especially Dutch literature... Some of my favourite writers are Khaled Hosseini, Milan Kundera, Louis Paul Boon and Willem Elsschot.
Music: especially jazz and musical. Intense, intimite music with original instrumentation and honest lyrics. E.g. Mumford and Sons, Fleet foxes, Bastille, ... Once the musical, Spring Awakening, The Wild Party, ... Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, ...
Movies: I still have to watch so many, but I can really appreciate a thoughtful drama. Watched 'De rouille et d'os' yesterday, loved it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Showering under a waterfall in Thailand.
Hitch-hiking my way through Europe.
Couchsurfing and singing in a play in Amsterdam.

Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn to focus on just one thing, or a few, and not always wanting to do too much. Find a little rest in my life and my head. I always want too much and when I reach one goal always look for another one. I'd like to be happy with what I have attained, for a while. Rest and enjoy. Live in the 'now'.
On the other hand, I think I can make people glow/grow with an immeasureable amount of enthousiasm and optimism I have in myself. I always believe in myself, in others, in the power of believing in eachother.
