About Me
Hey all :)
My name is Timoteus and I'm from a town in Finland called Jakobstad, where I work as an electrician at a paper mill factory.
I love to learn new things; history, languages, musical instruments, to name a few. I also enjoy hiking in forests and mountainy areas. A few beers at the pub while sharing stories and anecdotes is also a thing I can't refuse.
Meeting and getting to know new people is one of life's gifts. Humor and being able to laugh at yourself is also some of the most important things in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm just getting started on Couchsurfing but I've heard some great things!
The concept sounds amazing to me. It kinda gives you the oppertunity to see areas and cultures a bit more from the eyes of the locals. When I've traveled somewhere I've always wanted to not just see the local customs and culture, but expierience it, try to blend in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to heavy metal, hard rock and different kinds of folk music. But I enjoy most music styles.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hard to choose but I've gotta go with when I went on a roadtrip through northern Finland, Sweden and Norway. Drove 3000 km+, Climbed a mountain near Tromsö, Norway and went on a whale safari in Andenes, Norway.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm finding it a bit hard to put my thoughts into words but I'll try. I love to learn and submerge myself into different cultures. When I visit a place I don't want to stand around with a "I love *insert place*"-hat while taking pictures.
I'd like to learn about things that you can't find online; local legends, local stories and your stories and experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My life has had many shades and I bet your life has as well. We can exchange stories and experiences and hopefully learn a thing or two from each other. Also I am a proud Finn. If you'd like I could tell you a whole lot about Finnish culture. Sadly I'm a lousy chef. But if we meet up or I stay at your place I promise you; the first drink is on me!
