About Me

I am a young Canadian who enjoys thinking, playing games, and spending time with friends. I have a Masters Degree in philosophy, a subject that I love, and plan on continue working in. I paid for that degree and my undergrad by Planting Trees every summer in Northern Canada (and occasionally not that northern), a job which I love with mixed feelings. I love to read and always have a book or two on the go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I have found that when I travel if I interact more with people who actually live in the places I go to, (instead of the nice travelers in the hostels along the way) I get so much more from that experience, learning about the place and the lives in it. I would like to be able to offer my home to travelers who do want to meet some locals, and I would like to meet people in other places as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

So I will try to keep this short.. for books we have The Incrementalists (and most of his other books) by Steven Brust, Hyperion by Dan Simmons, Plan B by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, Long Shot by Dick Francis, Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman, The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. And my goodness many more.

For movies, Shall we say... Mirror Mask, The Matrix, Shooting Fish, The Empire Strikes back, One Week, And that Robin Hood Movie where he is a fox (perhaps a fav of a younger version of me)

And Music! Gojira, Opeth, Queens of the Stone Age, Soen, and Beyond Creation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have planted over 800,000 Trees. Thats not bad right?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach philosophical concepts, and I can learn about them too! I can teach some little bits of playing guitar, but could certainly learn far more.

I love history, and love stories about the past and lives and people in it, and can teach some but would like to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share ideas, cooking skills, and conversation. And presumably more!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
