Overview
About Me
I'm high school art and design teacher and a practicing visual artist. You can find some of my work on my instagram account (@timothy_vee).
I really like meeting new people and having ridiculously long chats about things that seem really important at the time. Since travelling south east asia I have thoroughly enjoyed talking philosophy of travel and living a good life. I am always interested to chat about the politics of a region but don't have strong views one way or another. I am extremely open to peoples ideas and love to hear a person's story and am happy to share my own.
Ive been living and teaching in London for the last 18 months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One thing I have noticed since returning from my last long trip overseas is that as the memories begin to fade, it's the human interactions that stick with me. The sights and smells are dull but I can vividly remember the walking tour guides I had and the great people I met. I want to couch surf for this reason, while I'll definitely do my share of sight seeing (it'd be rude not to), I'm really going to experience new people.
Couch surfing experiences:
Meet ups:
Sun (Korean) - met up in Australia
Tam (Malaysian) - met up in Australia
Raphael (German) - met up in Australia
Tam (Malaysia) - he hosted me in KL and had the most amazing time.
Luo Quin - took me out to an indian restaurant in KL and then to try durian... durian is horrible :p.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music - I would say I listen to "a bit of everything" and it's actually true. I've been through so many genre phases. Chances are if you're interested in music we'll be able to find some common ground.
I read a lot. Mostly philosophy and journalism but I like a good novel. I'm revently finished reading 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac and before that I read 'In the footsteps of Ghengis Kahn' by Tim Cope.... i love a good travel logue but my all time favourite book is Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance.
While at uni I studied film and I really love movies. The Big Lebowski is probably my favorite but I'm prone to saying a lot of others are the best.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Becoming a teacher.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an illustrator and can probably teach you a trick or two if you've ever wanted to learn to draw.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a pretty good cook and like to think I can tell a good tale. On my travels I want to sketch the different places I stay, if you like my illustrations I'd love to give you a copy of yours.
