About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world and life around me, conversation by conversation and adventure by adventure.

ABOUT ME

Graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2013. Looking to explore different paths and places as I decide where to go next.
Currently on a cross country road trip with two of my best friends. Hoping to see some cool places and meet some inspiring people along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in approaching the world with humility. I believe that I do not have it all figured out, and never will. Based on this, I try not to approach any person or idea with arrogance or superiority.
I believe in meaning and goodness, and that the way I treat other people matters. In an awesome way, there is value in adventure and daring to love someone or something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently on a cross USA road trip. I love meeting locals and hearing their stories, so couch surfing seemed like the perfect fit!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just discovered this site so I have yet to host or surf. At the moment I am looking to surf my way around the United States.

Once I've settled down somewhere, I'll be looking to host.

Interests

I love running. I prefer running without route or time limit, exploring whatever area I am in. My favorite sports are basketball and soccer, but I enjoy everything from skipping rocks to disc golf. I draw a lot of my inspiration from books. I find no greater comfort than settling in with a cup of a coffee and a good read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After graduating college in May 2013, I lived with a host family in Nicaragua for 3 months and volunteered at a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting children with special needs. Living on a farm with a genuine Nicaraguan family was so different from anything I had experienced. Learning a new way of life and becoming familiar with a foreign culture was a privilege, and shapes who I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

You know that daring adventure in the back of your mind? That thing you want to do but haven't yet because of all the things that could go wrong?
Listen to that voice.

In my short life, one of the few things I've learned is to reject a life ruled by fear. We each have a potential adventure set out before us (think Walter Mitty or The Alchemist). It could be traveling the world, or it could be asking out that girl you like. Whatever it is, seeking it out will make you come alive.
