About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to enrich my life by traveling the world and living in all the different cultures I can. The more people from different cultures and/or backgrounds I meet, the broader my understanding of the world and the people in it will be.

ABOUT ME

I'm an open minded man who's on a journey to experience everything the world has to offer. I'm friendly and always willing to help those around me in need. I'm strong willed and use logic and reason in most things I do, though I don't mind winging it on rare occasions. I can be rather goofy, since we all need to have fun and laugh in life, but I know when to take things seriously. I'm easy to talk to, as most people I know have discovered, and I'm always there when someone needs someone to talk to. All in all, I'm a guy who's very pleasant to be around. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Be open minded towards everything. Accept the people around you for who they are, and respect their views on anything, be it politics, religion, or even life in general. Always stand up for what you believe in, because what you believe in is easily one of the largest factors in defining who you are, and we should all be proud of who we are.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only experience I'd consider a couchsurfing experience (though it wasn't done through this site) was when I moved from PA to FL a little over a year ago, and I drove. I stopped at my brother's place along the way to crash for the night, which wasn't anything too special, since he was only a few hours away. However, I also stopped to crash at an old friend's place who I hadn't seen in a couple years since they'd moved, and they were 9 hours away from my brother's place. It was quite fun hanging out and catching up. :)

Interests

I like video games, eating, anime, the middle, renaissance and victorian ages, animals, eating, my friends, all of nature, metalworking, sparring with swords, eating, etc. Also, I like food. :P

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I like are Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix, and Pan's Labyrinth to name a few.

Music I like is rather broad, but I'd have to say my favorite genres are Power Metal and Symphonic Metal. My two favorite bands are Blind Guardian (specifically Melodic Power Metal) and Nightwish.

Books I like would have to be the Legend of Drizzt series, Harry Potter (though I'll admit that I haven't read them, though I know I'd really enjoy them) The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, and generally anything fantasy, though I'm not opposed to other genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to MAGFest 8 (the Music And Gaming Festival) is easily one of the greatest experiences of my life. MAGFest is a convention held at a convention center/hotel that's filled with awesome people, and it's only ever spread by word of mouth, making it so the awesome people who attend get other awesome people to attend.

I spent hours one evening there playing Blackjack around a table with a dealer dressed in a tuxedo, and all of us acting in character as though it was a high end table. I didn't know any of these people, and it didn't matter. We shared drink concoctions and just had an awesome time.

I stayed up for 42 hours straight playing arcade games and board games, partying with celebrities, and was a part of now legendary events that have spread to other conventions across the country.

By far the biggest example of how awesome the people at MAGFest are is this. That year's MAGFest took place over New Years. It was roughly 12:30 AM, New Years day. I'm walking along a hallway alone, and I hear someone call out behind me, "Ok guys, follow me!" On a whim, I turned around, said, "Ok! Where are we going?" And the guy looked at his friends for a second, then looked back at me and said, "We're going to my room. Come join us for champagne and other drinks!" Long story short, I spent a couple hours drinking beer and champagne with people I'd never met, and none of us were concerned in the least and we all had an amazing time.

And that's MAGFest. A community of nerds, geeks, and all around great people who're there to play games, go to concerts, meet new people and all around have a good time. MAGFest is, once again, easily one of the greatest experiences of my life. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic sword skills to those who're interested.

I'm willing to learn anything, especially if it's a skill that's rare in this day and age.

I'm willing to share any of my knowledge that I've gained from my very unorthodox life. I have knowledge and experiences that most people will never have, most of them things that people wouldn't believe possible. However, I'm more than happy to pass on my knowledge to those who'll listen.
