ABOUT ME

I am a small business owner focusing on tree care. A few times a year I will travel through several states just to meet up with other tree guys to geek out and climb trees. This will be my 2nd year traveling to participate in climbing competitions.

After that I will stick around in the Midwest for an open ended amount of time. I have friends to visit in Chicago IL, Madison & Milwaukee WI, Marquette MI, and Detroit, MI. Plus a few farms to visit along the way.

While I travel I like to climb trees, hike trails, ride my mountain bike, visit rivers, eat good local food, and explore the occasional distillery or brewery.

I am thinking about moving to a new town or city soon, and would like to see what's out there, and what calls to me the most.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mainly a surfer, but I did a bit of hosting when I was living in a NASCO co-op in Minneapolis, MN. The house averaged 24-30 residents/students. Surfers came through every now and again that I would cook dinner for, and show around the city. I like to build, create, share ideas, draw, paint, and leave a place better than I found it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experiences have all been amazing. Rock climbing, cliff jumping, hiking, bike rides, and mini urban adventures, visiting local pubs, restaurants, and meeting friendly wonderful people. I am a very trusting person and a lot of my "couchsurfing" has been random and not organized through the website. However the people that I've met through the website have all been very kind. The adventures, friendships, and experiences are priceless.

Movies/TV: I don't watch a lot of TV these days. I do like watching fun family movies like how to train your Dragon, Up, Brave, The Incredibles, etc. I also like anime.

Music: Emancipator, Bonobo, Blackmill, & Jamming out with people

Books: Anything that will teach me a new skill.

I try to teach myself something new every month. I picked up this idea from Matt Derouen a couch surfer that I stayed with in St. Louis.

Every situation can be a little bit different. I am a generalist, and have a little bit of knowledge in a lot different fields. Sometimes I fix broken things around the house. Sometimes I cook and create dinner from scratch, sometimes it's a pizza party. Usually I share conversations, I've yet to experience a time when it wasn't fun. I usually have farm fresh food with me as I make it a habit to visit farms as I'm traveling around.
