ABOUT ME

I (Tim) am doing my PhD in physics at the moment. I am cuurently a member of the IceCube collaboration which deploying a neutrino telescope in the anatrtic ice at the geographic South Pole.I hope I get to "surf" there some time soon ;).

Birte almost finished her study to become a teacher for primary school. She studied English and Mathematics.

We are a couple now for 8 years and live together for one year now. We love to travel around and meet people all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We start to offer our couch for people who would like to spend some time in Dortmund. Of course, we do not only want to offer a place to sleep. But most of all we are looking forward to meeting new people from around the world or around the corner.

In May we would like to surf in the USA and are looking forward to meeting interesting people there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At the moment we do not have any couchsurfing experiences yet, but we hope that this will change quickly. We heard so many great stories about it so that we want to experience it, too. Therefore, we are really looking forward to hosting our first guest! In May we would like to travel around in the USA and are interested to try the other side of couchsurfing.

Interests

All in all, Birte and I have some different interests. Birte loves any kind of art (e.g. painting) I love physics and soccer :-). But we also have some similarities. Therefore, we are both interested in reading, watching TV-shows and movies, meeting friends, cooking delicious food, our hamster Lilly…and of course travelling! Last summer we did our first “longer” tracking tour (unfortunately it was not as long as we planned it to be…;-) but nevertheless we enjoyed it).

Well, if you really really want to I can try to explain to you the mysteries of the universe (as far as I have understood them)in 20 min. But seriously we will probably end up talking about something completely different.
