About Me
ABOUT ME
I am studying graphic design and visual communication at the university of the arts in bremen, germany. I am currently in my 10th semester and will hopefully graduate this year in summer. As many other people i have a passion for music and used to play guitar in a few local bands and loose projects over the years but never with the intention ( or talent ) of making a living of it. My other big passion, and the reason i don't get to play the guitar more often, is art and design. Unlike so many other unfortunate people, who study things they don't believe in, or working jobs they hate, for me composing, designing and creating things is something i couldn't live without. It took me sometime to figure it out, but now i know that this is what i want to do with my life. It gives me fortitude, purposefulness and certainty and that's a good thing. I don't know what else to tell you about me, the rest you'll have to find out yourself ;)
PHILOSOPHY
1. To much »Ha-Ha«, pretty soon »Boo-Hoo«
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Eventhough i am new to CS, i'm very much familiar with the concept behind it. As a matter of fact almost every trip i made in the past years was based on the principles of CS in one way or the other.
Within the Indie- and Punkrock Scene, with which i
was involved for quite some time, the idea of letting bands or other people stay at your house for a night or two was (and is ) very common. This way i travelled most of europe and the US more then once. For me it is the best way to travel, not necessarily because you safe money to me that is rather secondary. I think that the only way to really understand a country is to see how the people live, what they think and say. I learned a lot by travelling this way, it broadend my horizon, and i met a lot of people, many of whom i still consider very, very good friends.
For the past few years i didn't travel much anymore. I was just to buisy with school and didn't had the time.
I had friends from California staying at my place from time to time, and my sister became a CS Member a couple of years ago and hosted many people from all over the world ever since then. I always enjoyed having people staying at our house and joint them in their activities when ever i could. It's always good to
meet people that offer different perspectives and views on the world and life in general.

It's every tuesday and usually starts around 9 p.m and ends around midnight, depending on how long the musicians like to jam.
Flicks:
»The Royal Tenenbaums«, »The Life Aquatic with Steve Zisso«, every movie Jim Jarmusch ever did, »Lost in Translation«, all the Pink Panther movies. Almost everything Lary Clark ever did. Same goes for Wim Wenders, Gus Van Sant, the Coen Brothers. Other flicks i recently saw and find worth mentioning are: »The men who stare at goats«, »The syrian bride«, which is both sad and funny at the same time and definitely worth watching, same goes for »Walz with Bashir«. I also liked “In the Valley of Elah“, a very calm, thoughtful and passionate movie, and finally »Persepolis« a french animation film about growing up as a girl in iran, which i found very amusing.
Books:
Lately i have read »Kill your friends« by John Niven, »Missing Kissinger« by Etgar Keret, which i found both amusing and reflective, »The God Delusion«, which i thought overshot the mark, and currently i am reading »The ship of girls« by Michal Zamir. Other then that I read alot of books, but most of them are about illustrations and graphic design or industrial design. In this context i very much enjoyed Banksy's »Wall and Piece« which i think is both, funny and inspiring.
