About Me

Me encanta fotografiar, escribir y pintar.

Hello everyone!!
My name is Agostina and I'm from Argentina.
I was born in a small, charming town in the center of my country, in Cordoba State.
I grew up there. My grandparents raised me because my parents worked all day. Why do I tell you this? Because I'm super happy to have shared 17 years of my life with this two incredible persons. They were an excellent example for my life. I'm still spending so much time with them when I'm at home.
I moved to another city when almost 18 years old. I did this by myself. I had chosen to study Tourism at the University. So, I went out of my comfort zone for a first time in my life. It was exciting, and at the same time, scary. I didn't know anything. I had never met anyone new. However, little by little I made really good friends. I had amazing teachers and I was in love with my career. Also, I met my first love during my first month at the University. In addition, I had my first job in a restaurant. During the third year of University, I found a really good job in a travel agency. I learned a lot. That first year I was picking up people in terminals and airports and dropping them off at their hotels. I used to do booking for them and for another clients.
During the following two years I started to work as a Tourist Guide. I loved to do this, and I was very friendly. I taught people about geography, history, important landmarks, etc. I was so happy to hear their stories too. Unfortunately, in 2014 my ex-boss needed a person to do booking, so I went back to the desk. I was not really happy. I spent about 10 hours every day with a computer, working in an office, sitting in my chair... To much stress. Finally, after thinking and thinking, I decided to quit. Coincidently, it was the same period when my first boyfriend and I broke up after almost seven years. So I went back to my parents' house and six months later I decided to start an incredible trip around South America. It took me 15 months, more than 10 countries, some islands, a lot of new people and amazing landscapes. It was the most adventurous trip of my whole life. I learned Portuguese in Brazil, some basic French in French Guiana, and then I moved to US to work as an Au Pair for 18 months. I took care of four wonderful children. In the meanwhile I learned English and improved my skills.
“People have all kinds of dreams. To study at university. To live and work in another country. To improve their lives for themselves, and their families. If you're pursuing your dream and that dream requires English language skills, you may need to live in an English speaking country.”

Why do I tell you this? Because in 2015 I was really depressed, crying and lying in bed every single day for more than four months. I did not recognize myself, I was sad, I was mad, I felt without a goal. I didn't want to wake up in the morning, brush my hair or use makeup. But even then I knew that life has a purpose, a major purpose, and I directed myself to find it!!!
And yeah... My dream is to travel the world... It always was since I can remember... Then I started to be focused on other things like studying, or having a job, or finding a love...Yeah.... travel the World. That's why for the first time I'll go across the Pacific Ocean to Europe!!! Now, I feel ready.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

:) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ :)

I really believe in CS as an excellent option to meet new people, share experiences, visit the city, eat together and talk about everything. CS opened my mind. I don't have stereotypes or judgements. Not anymore. I believe that the Universe put in front of you the correct people and the right experiences to learn and grow. Even if it is not happy, always it will be positive when you learn something new.

Interests

I am interested in painting, I use oil techniques, with brush and spatula, I learned pointillism recently and decorate pots that I place in my cactus garden.
I am interested in meeting people from other places, learning anecdotes, customs, cultures, teaching them to "drink mate" and learning new languages for communication.
I love Argentina because it is a beautiful country. You are welcome to see it and enjoy it by my hand.

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild miré hace poco y me marcó el alma: "But when you forgive, you love. And when you love, God's light shines on you."

Lately my listening was extended to music from all of Latin America, India, Africa, France, some of Israel and music in British and American English.
I watched “Into the Wild” recently and it marked my soul: "But when you forgive, you love And when you love, God's light shines on you."

Through natural construction, together with my partner, we were able to make our own mud house, with adobe, horse dung and materials from the area where we lived, which was Mendoza, in Argentina!
To be with hands in the mud, raising walls, learn to rebocar, to make electrical connections, to nail wood to have a roof! It was really one of the best things I've done in my life!
A great experience in which I learned that everything is possible when you really want it!

Teach, Learn, Share

"Life is continuous learning, you just have to open up, because what has to be will be"
I can teach Spanish, painting, drinking “yerba mate” and making "Dulce de Leche casero".
