About Me

I have just returned from nine months backpacking overseas. I've done several overseas trips over the years but this was my first long term solo trip- and it was amazing. I met amazing people and did things I never thought I would get the opportunity to do. I'm back in Australia now and have just moved to Brisbane. I met some amazing people through couch surfing and would love to meet more travellers and repay the favour.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To see cities from the other side, instead of just the standard backpacker route.

Interests

Holiday planning, seeing friends, terrible reality TV shows, terrible rnb/rap music and dancing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise on the Great Wall of China, all to myself
Cycling solo along the coast of Taiwan, never cycled more that 50km before and still have no idea how to change a tube- but somehow I survived
Spending ten days with a Mongolian reindeer family in a Teepee- without being able to speak English, also successfully riding a reindeer and a horse for five hours without disastrous butt injuries.
Wild camping by myself in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Getting up those big hills and getting absolutely shat on by mother nature at least three times
Not getting food poisoning in India, after 7 weeks. Despite eating lots of dodgy food and even some salty water in some bread thing which almost definitely was not fit for non-local person consumption

Teach, Learn, Share

My favourite thing about travelling and meeting like minded travellers is being able to find out about the next amazing adventure. Only a few people I have met have truly sparked my wanderlust. It is an exchange, its not just about telling your story- it is about sharing experiences and the passion for travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I currently (for a short period of time) have a spare room in my flat in Brisbane. There is no actual bed- but a very comfortable double bed air mattress which does the job quite nicely. Great location. I work- so availability and access is very dependent on my work schedule. Also it is a loft apartment which means noise travels so on the odd occasion I have an early start I'll just ask that you keep festivities and TV watching to the room or to one of the amazing bars, restaurants that are a stones throw from the apartment.
