About Me

Please consider that I only host girls or travelling couples.

CURRENT MISSION
I want to get to know about other cultures and people by the people themselves

ABOUT ME
My name is Tine, which is a short form of Christine. I'm 34 years old and live in Hamburg. I moved here in March 2012 for an internship, which turned into me writing my bachelor thesis for the company and then starting to work in the same company in the position of Social Media Manager then as an Online Marketing Manager and then as Content Manager.

Currently I work part time as an Office Manager for an architecture office.
My frugal lifestyle allows for the luxury of working 12 to 5 only.

Hamburg has a lot to offer, there is constantly something going on, often more than one exciting thing on a weekend. Every once in a while I also visit my family who lives only one and a half hours away in direction to the Baltic Sea. These weekends help me to relax and calm down after a busy week at work.

My friends would probably describe me as a a optimistic, outgoing and sometimes quirky personality that is easy-going and always open for any adventure. Sometimes I have my "shy days" where I'm not that extroverted as usual but while travelling I'm mostly so inspired by everything around me that I forget my shyness.
I'm a big fan of DIY and crafting and love to share my passion. Therefore I also love to explore little craftshops or other little shops that sell handmade stuff. For the year 2011 I did an experiment and wasn't buying anything new in the shops, I only thrifted in second-hand shops and on fleamarkets. The experiment was quite successfull, though I stopped it by buying a ready-to-wear jeans jacket. I still try to buy as much as possible on alternative ways though, but I'm not so radical anymore.

Another passion of me is cooking and I'm always keen on trying out new recipes.

I love to get to know new people and hear about their adventures either on their travels or in their ordinary life.
Unfortunalety I don't get to travel as often as I'd like so I love to have visitors from all over the world at my apartment.

PHILOSOPHY

A day without a smile is a lost day. Carpe diem.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell people about this website everywhere I go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

3 Hosts in three different cities in the USA. All of them very open-minded and talkative, they gave me exactly the kind of insight in the American way of live that I wanted to have.
Several hosts in Germany all of them very welcoming, then some more hosts in California which showed me how to juggle work and play.
And I met some lovely people on my travels for dinner or other excursions.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm one of these persons that just can't remember band names, film titles or book titles. But I do remember that I've read a book already if I start to read it again.
So I don't stick to a certain genre, I just go with the flow of the story.
I've seen Rodger Hodgson of Supertramp and Bad Religion live and loved them, so I guess one could say that my taste in music is pretty diverse.

Four simple words though - Frank Turner THE BEST!!!! And Asaf Avidan, love him too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the World Cup in 2006 to see the game for the third place because I won tickets.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching and I can teach cooking, using electronic devices, how to do a roly-poly, how to make pasta/ crepes, how to do wheel-gymnastics, how to speak German, knitting, sewing.

I'm interested in learning any language, naming bird voices, learning how to water-ski or surf.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
