ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as an open-minded, sociable, loving guy. I love to talk and share ideas with people, but I'm also a good listener. I love to laugh and have fun, but when needed I can be very serious. I'm someone who feels it's very important to be there for his friends.

PHILOSOPHY

You only live once.

Travel is like fertiliser. It makes you grow beyond what you thought was possible.

Who cares if we act crazy, we'll never meet these people again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting. Having people from different walks of life and countries over, showing them my city and country, sharing ideas and experiences. Couchsurfing as, in my opinion, couchsurfing is meant to be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Overall I feel like hosting or surfing is like coming home. As you connect with strangers, they become friends. And while talking about yourself and your country, you reconnect with yourself and you as a citizen of the world. Hosting or surfing is a great way to put things in perspective. You're reminded that everyone's the same, and not so different than people would make you to believe.

Interests

I like a great many of different things. I'm one of those people that hate to sit at home, so hangs out with his friends a lot. I love to talk and share ideas with people, and in the process, enrichening myself with new views and perspectives.
I love to learn and grow, to be a better person each day than the day before.
I love to act on impulse, to overcome the fear of the unknown and, by doing so, gaining new experiences and life-stories.

Besides those things, I am also very interested in life and the best ways to live it. The way other people live it and think about it. I love seeing the different sides of life and the world.

Recently I started to get into DIY, homemade and homegrown; subjects and things that fascinate me more than anything. These days, I'm obsessed with 'better' and more sustainable ways to live and to connect with the more mindful, natural way my grandparents lived.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoyed watching Casablanca, To have and have not, Donnie Darko and 300 very much. Kinda illustrates the genres of movies that I like.

I'm into: Chet Baker, Miike Snow, Moloko, Fever Ray, Zero 7, Bon Iver, Kings of Convenience, Iron & Wine, Half Moon Run, Goldfrapp, Horse Feathers, The Whitest Boy Alive, Friendly Fires, Billie Holiday, Cat Power, Scissor Sisters, Patrick Watson, Stan Getz, Miles Davis, Waldeck, Isbells, Elbow, Django Reinhardt, Ane Brun, The Knife, Ben Howard, Sufjan Stevens, She & Him, Julia Stone, Beach House, Ella Fitzgerald, James Vincent McMorrow,, Lamb, Madeleine Peyroux, Cold Specks, John Coltrane, Erlend Øye,

Books: any good book, comic book or graphic novel will do just fine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope I can learn to overcome that first, small voice that says 'Oh-uh' every time I do something new.

You can get really far just with respect, patience and an open, unjudgmental spirit.

You only live once.

Own little want little.

Things you own end op owning you.
