About Me

I'm an art student currently living in Vancouver, Canada.

I'm studying animation, and hope to be a storyboarder for cartoons someday. I'm also currently working on launching an online comic that deals with themes of found family, empathy, isolation/connection, and the messy process of navigating early adulthood.

I'm an sociable and curious person who loves to embark on exciting adventures and learn new things, and solo traveling/couch surfing has been a great avenue to accomplish that. I've always been incredibly interested in meeting new people and making friends, so Couchsurfing has been an amazing way to connect with people on my travels. I'm pretty spontaneous and always up for trying new things, so please recommend your favorite local things to me and I'll check them out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to experience as much as I can while I travel, and I want to meet people from many different walks of life.

Interests

I write and draw and craft and make zines and write songs and basically I love creating things. I also like playing basic entry level video games since I'm terrible at anything else (but I do like watching people play more complex stuff), watching cartoons, baking vegan desserts, going for bike rides, doing yoga, discussing politics and feminism and social justice, wandering around cities and taking iPhone pics of all the dogs and the cool plants I come across, discovering new cool places to eat jat, going to local music shows, and generally exploring.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Honestly, I'll pretty much listen to anything and I'll likely enjoy it. Recently my favorites have been Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, Beach House, Best Coast, Mal Blum, Youth Lagoon, Coconut Records, and probably some others that I can't remember off the top of my head.

TV: Lately I've been watching Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Haikyuu!, Free!, Star Trek, The Flash, and Brooklyn 99.

BOOKS: Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Cinnamon Toast and the End of the World (arguably the best book ever written in the YA genre and should be made into a movie), I'll Give You the Sun (should also be a movie), Last December, It's Kind of a Funny Story, just a lot of YA novels basically.

MOVIES: I don't often have the attention span to sit through entire movies, but most of the ones that capture my interest tend to be animated ones. I especially like Studio Ghibli movies, and I also really enjoyed Into The Spiderverse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2017 I went on my first solo trip. I visited San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. When I got to Vancouver, I absolutely fell in love with the city, and I decided I wanted to move here, so... I did. I got back home at the beginning of May, and by the end of August I was moving across the country. One of the best decisions I've ever made!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm good at vegan/gluten free baking and cooking, so I'd be happy to make some food for you or share my recipes! Also I teach yoga, so I could do a little impromptu class for you. Or I could make some art for you!
