About Me

Hi ,
I am Stefano, I am 25, from Italy. I am a perspective master student in an international evolutionary biology program. Ever six months I change university and conduct different researches. On the list there are Gronignen(Netherlands), Montpellier(France), Munich(Germany) and now I am about to start my last semster in Rome. I am quite a sociable fella, and really enjoy company and meeting new people . I like dancing (I know folk dances, lindy-hop, boogi-woogie and tango), playing music (guitar, piano and accordion diatonique), strategy and role-play gaming (my real nerdy inner-self, which I was never able to disbanish sice I was 8), engaging in illegal activities such as graffiti, etc. I know how to be nice and tidy and how to live well with others without being an encumbrance. I like hiking, going to museums and concerts. I am not much in to sports but I enjoy them once in while, I am an free diver but i don't think it really counts as sport, at least not to me. I am not much into clubbing, but i enjoy it as well once in a while, since i really love dancing (see above). I still much prefer a good bottle of wine or a glass of fine ale and a table where to have a long talk till morning. I am a decent cook, a decent cleaner, a terrible time-scheduler. I think that'spretty much all folks! The rest is up to us to discover...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling a lot, and most of all I like to get to know different life-styles, perspectives and all in all cultures. Being hosted by someone who actually lives in the place your visiting makes this so much easier, since you come to be kinda involved in his/hers everyday life. It would be great to spend some "normal" time with someone who lives in a different place than yours, this alone already makes a journey i think! I would like to give something in exchange as well. I am said to be a good company good talker and good listener. Philosophy is one of my fortes and I can make it up if I don't know something, so do not worry fake/true insights will not be missing from the conversation. I have my share of stories and theories and experiences nonetheless, and with this I hope to enrich my future hosts as much I am hoping they will enrich my experiences travelling!

Interests

I am quite the dancer indeed, if there's music I am not gonna hold back. Any kind, seriously, the more the better. I like singing and playing guitar. I write some songs, not much but I enjoy it. I also play folk music, in particular I am learning Accordeon.
I like diving and snorkeling, i love fishes and the underwater world in general, it is so fascinating! I like the sea and any sea-related activity in general. I have been practicing recitation as an hobby for 8 years and still doing it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music its a little bit hard, I would say there are three main categories: the music which was passed down on me by my dad: so penguin cafè orchestra, genesis, sigur ros, etc. (I know, they are absolutely not related one with another but this is the reality of facts); then comes my teen-age-indie streak with all the stuff like arctic monkeys, kooks, strokes etc. And as of now I think I am into experimental electronics, whatever the heck that means (mild high club, bonobo, kid francescoli etc. etc.).
Books: a lot. My favorite: One hundred years of solitude, period.
Movies: I really like them but unlike books I rarely do feel substantially changed by them. Anyhow, one which was really important to me was "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I danced for 6 night straight sleeping like from 9a.m. to 12 a.m., that was amazing! I went to jail for stealing Christmas lights and got away with it clean as a baby's ass(not so clean then maybe). I survived new years in Naples.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some cooking, some jokes and some other stuff. I would like to learn the same things from my hosts. I am an evolutionary biologist, so if you're interested in nature I am eager to share what i know, maybe giong to an excursion as well!
